When my brother and sister-in-law (Lindsey) told our family that they would be having twins, a girl and a boy, we were beyond ecstatic. Lindsey began pinning away ideas for a neutral themed room that would also represent the personalities of mom and dad.

Additionally, she had to maintain functionality in a small guest room while sticking to a budget. From there, everyone gathered things that would match the aqua, yellow and grey color scheme. She made the curtains, bedskirts, teething pads, the "Kara and Michael" scrabble letters, the paper poofs, and re-purposed an old dresser that my parents had for the changing table (yes, my brother did help). The side table was purchased at Home Goods, and the rug is from TJ Maxx.

Lindsey says, "Because we had a girl and a boy, I wanted to keep it as neutral as possible, but present features that were masculine and feminine in a subtle way. Many of the DIY projects were simple, so take the time to research something before paying top dollar for it."
