We were still in survival mode last December and even though the holidays were special, I just didn’t know my house very well. Mostly because I just don’t have a few days straight to spend on it, but also because I want to be intentional about how I decorate.
Because I had a vision for the look I wanted and think this spot will help set the tone for the rest of my decorating. {Post contains affiliate links, which means I make a small commission at no extra cost to you.
I decided to use faux garland as the bulk and basis of my Christmas window decor. The great benefit of faux greenery is the wire that allows you to bend and twist it in all different directions.
I decided to use two sets of battery-operated light strands to add a subtle glow beneath our window garland. By simply tucking it in here and there, I was able to fill in the faux with real greenery to give it a full look.
I even added some of the dried eucalyptus from my fall decor to add a subtle touch of natural color.
This compromise between faux and real greenery in this Christmas kitchen window garland is perfect for my simple loving heart. And the fullness of it just makes me think of all the goodness and bountifulness this time of the year has to offer us.
