I’ll try to remember what we did, but you may want to google the board and batten process from someone who actually keeps track of their DIY’s step-by-step. When we move in, we have grand plans and then eventually get tired and hit a wall.
Because we were going for a bit of a lighter, softer color scheme for the nursery, I needed to prime over the eggplant. I had never used the kind of primer that was recommended and secretly freaked out as I was putting it up on the walls. My SIL and I held up different paint options but ultimately ended up with a color that was already in much of the upstairs. Benjamin Moore’s Alaskan Husky is such a lovely gray paint color.
While my SIL and BIL were at work, Gretchen and I put up the Board and Batten. We worked together to find a rug to go over the carpet and a ceiling fan to replace the old one. Thanks so much for taking this tour of my niece and nephew’s gender neutral nursery with me! I think that the paint colors and board and batten will transition so nicely into their toddler and kid rooms.
