I knew I wanted a change, something light and bright, something to energize this space and bring in a sense of airiness. The graphic, Moroccan motif rug, I loved our console table and sunburst mirror. A can of chalk paint, swapping out the mirror and a new rug that was a lucky find…and our entryway makeover is complete.

The lines of the table are gorgeous and I knew with a fresh coat of paint, I could take this piece to a whole new level. The black rug served us very well for all of the years we’ve had it, but I wanted something new to energize our space and add sophistication.
I wasn’t sure what I would end up choosing, but I found the most perfect shade of soft grey when I finally decided I was ready to paint. I wanted to try chalk paint and found the perfect shade for my project – Icy Grey by Rustoleum. In the shot above, the table is still wet, but you can get a very good idea at how opaque it is when it’s applied, and this is only one coat.
As a quick option, I tried swapping it out with my vintage Hollywood Regency faux bamboo mirror from the bedroom to see how it would look…
AND here it is – I think it’s the perfect piece for now, and I also love the style paired with this console table much better now that it’s painted as well. There wasn’t much to do in here except paint the table and change the mirror, but finding the perfect rug just by chance, was the icing on the cake for me.
I love the silver tones and the subtle hints of beige and brown in this rug, they compliment the warm and cool greys in the space. The vintage-inspired look is beautiful, and the muted pattern is perfect – quite the contrast to our previous rug!
This rug is like a breath of fresh air and was the ideal piece to finish off our entryway makeover.
