Suggestions for corner space between couches

I am searching for suggestions on how I can fill the space between my two couches.Currently, I have an older end table pushed back in the corner between them, which does not fit the space or match with our new couches.

I have been considering building a large square end table from the Anna White Rustic X end table plans and either staining the top with a light walnut stain and painting the bottom white or painting all white.I prefer not to push the couches any closer to keep the love seat centered with the window and to keep the corner of the couches even.We're also planning to build a new tv stand (to replace the black stand) and either paint white or stain in a light walnut.

We just moved into this rental and I cannot figure out what to do with this space between the living and dining areas.I plan on moving the living room rug to the dining room, and getting a bigger rug for the living, but there'd still be that empty space.I'm totally open to rearranging the living room, if you can think of a better layout.I'm adding some pictures, so have a good understanding of the space I'm working with.

I have fairly large sofa and love seat arranged in L shape in my living room.The space between them is 3 feet x 3 feet.Since the space is square I think a square table should look good.

The problem is that most commercially available end tables are too small for this space - usually 20 " x 20" or 22" x 22" at best.
