We used a sealer specifically for travertine that we had leftover from tiling the mudroom floor.

White Subway Tile with Dark Grout

As part of my mom’s mini kitchen reno last week, she ripped out her old back splash and installed these subway tiles from Home Depot (By herself!She’s amazing!).

We decided that a darker grout would both hold up better against staining and would also be a nice way to help the white of the cabinets work with the black of the counter tops.I also love that it’s a tiny bit graphic and a little edgier than plain white grout.

Part of the reason is that I’ve traveled to visit friends on my weekends or helped on house projects with family members.I decided to spare my neighbors the screaming from the wet saw, and in turn the tiling wasn’t getting done.

Reposting with picture...My contractor used white grout instead of the requested and expected light gray.Are there good, permanent ways to darken grout color?Or, are there proven ways to keep a white grout on the shower floor in the home's only bathroom from becoming discolored over time?

Compared to how it looked pre-grout, the white really stands out and if I'm stuck with it, I'd prefer it not to yellow.
