How To Choose Dining Tables For Small Spaces

Obviously, you can’t afford to squeeze in a really big dining table when you have a tiny home.And if that’s not a good option either, perhaps you need something even more space-efficient so get a fold-down table.Good old-fashioned dining tables can be an option too.So how about this dining table which you can slide under the staircase as soon as you’re finished enjoying dinner?This is a table which you can fold and turn into an inconspicuous framed mirror hanging on a wall.

Project Plans: Dining Room Reconfiguration and Wall Demo

Today I am sharing design plans for my next major project- the layout reconfiguration of my dining room which includes our first DIY wall demo.I am also thinking outside of the box by questioning traditional dining room layouts with some swoon-worthy inspiration.

While most of my 1980’s ranch home is relatively open concept, for some reason, the builder didn’t follow suit in the dining room….

Dining Room Before Wall Demo:Feeling closed off and isolated from the rest of the home, the only purpose my dining room served was as a makeshift office.

While there are two ways to enter our kitchen (thru the living room or thru the dining room), after years of living in our home, I have found that, most commonly, people enter the kitchen thru the dining room.

Tiny awkward dining area.

There isn't too much I can do with this space, but I was wondering if anyone had any ideas?I have a small rectangular table in storage but thought this round one may be better?Should I butt the table up against the wall?Any ideas appreciated!

My friend here in New York asked me for some help on redoing her existing dining table and decorating the wall it sits against.It’s a great, solid wood table with comfy, sturdy chairs.Whenever you paint a table top, I suggest at least semi gloss sheen so it wipes off easily.😉 The 3M strips worked beautifully, even on the 2 ceramic plates that were a little bit heavier than the plastic ones.

We both really love how it turned out and it makes her whole dining area look so much brighter and fun!
