We have a pretty new metal bed with gold accents for our farmhouse bedroom, but it didn’t start out that way.We purchased the IKEA SVELVIK bedframe for our guest bedroom (aka the room we’re staying in until the main bedroom is finished).It’s a sturdy, vintage-inspired metal bed that we have been eyeing for a while.Perfect for a farmhouse bedroom!

IKEA Fjell Repair

One of my recent builds that I am the most proud of is repair to our IKEA bedframe that got damaged in a recent move.Of course, those rails hid the four other bolts that secured the head and foot boards to the side boards.So, I had two options – scrap the bed, since replacement parts are discontinued, or try to construct a new one.All of the components to the Fjell bed, along with the missing left board in the headboard.

After this, I did a quick stain to get it to match the original board.

In search of metal bed

I've been in search of a metal bed for a few months now that my husband and I both like.This is the Larkin bed from Land of Nod, but it only comes in twin and full.
