DIY Round Farmhouse Coffee Table

I’ve been working with a client to redecorate her family room and have been searching high and low for a round, painted coffee table.It just so happens that I have really wanted one for our house, too.I’m so excited to share this DIY round farmhouse coffee table with you today!The one we have in our family room now is 19 and it seems to fit well with the new sectional so we’ll stick with that height.

I think the round shape helps with the flow a bit better as we are walking from the stairs into the family room.

DIY Round Farmhouse Table

I actually built this DIY round farmhouse table about 6 months ago.I kept looking for a table and just couldn’t find one I liked or that was budget friendly!I found this Archer Round Dining Table at Zgallerie and fell in love.While, I normally would have gone out and bought the table I remembered seeing a similar DIY table plans over at the Design Confidential.The size of the Archer table is 54″ and the Design Confidential had plans for a similar round table that were for a 48″ table.

This DIY French farmhouse style pedestal table is 48″ round and 30″ tall and built from simple lumber from Home Depot (2×8’s, 2×6’s, 2×4’s etc).Step 3*Take time to get theses first base long boards centered, it will help the rest of the base go together smoothly.

I have been looking for a round coffee table for a while now and can not find the size and color I wanted to I decided to DIY it.I really like the shape of the base and the fact that it has the “skirt” around the top.Fun fact: the average coffee table is about 16-18 inches.

It’s was a bit uneven so I used my palm sander around the edges to get it level.

Going round has it’s advantages so I decided to build an X base circular dining table.A DIY tutorial to build an X base dining table with a circular top.I built this circular dining table with an x base using plans from Ana White here and modified the top support pieces and created circular top design.Placed in the center of our antique farmhouse living room I love how the lines of the X base make a bold statement marking the table position.

For the finish I stained the table using a mixture of Minwax classic grey and dark walnut followed by clear wax.
