Front Door Opens To Dining Room

House Tour

Our front door is painted with Front Door Paint and it has held up beautifully.Our dining room table and benches were made by my Dad when he and my Mom were first married.More cupboards that need painted white.This old cupboard with a screen door was a purchase made at the Country Living Fair years and years ago – back before I knew what a blog was!

This was long before I’d discovered cool paint like chalk paint, milk paint, and Paint Couture.

Front door walks in to dining room?

I am about to purchase a house and I'm thinking about all the possibilities for updates etc.We want to tear down the wall that separates the living room and kitchen to make it more open.

My delimma is.... after we tear down the wall it makes more sense to swap the living & dining room (right next to each other) BUT that will cause the dining room to be near the front door.Is that weird to walk into a dining room (even though it's in a great room)??

I Can't Decide On A Front Door (Interior) Color

I’ve tried several things over the years to kind of separate this area from the main seating area of the living room.If my front door were inside an actual separate entryway, my paint color options for the interior of the front door would be much wider.

But since this door is right there in the living room, I just don’t know if I can make any other color work.It’s also on the fireplace, which is on the wall directly opposite the entryway wall.For reference, here’s the fireplace wall, directly opposite the dark teal entryway wall.

Hello, Open & Flowing Floor Plan! A Complete Kitchen & Bar Remodel

Our recent clients are thrilled to have completed the long-awaited kitchen and bar remodel of their 1975 home.The original floor plan included a 45-degree angled wall in the kitchen designed to separate the space from the neighboring dining area and enclosed porch.Removing the walls from the dining room and the bar area made all the difference in the flow of this house.You’ll also notice the new flooring: the clients chose a wood-look tile to install throughout the dining room, bar area, breakfast area, and the kitchen.The updated floor plan also allows a clear view of the breakfast and bar area from the cook station.
