I USED A GROUT PEN AND HERE ARE THE RESULTS!
Everywhere in our home we have used dark grout with tiles.I had been meaning to try a grout pen for ages, in fact I bought one (via Rainbow chalk) and it sat unused on my desk for ages – partly out of nervousness but mostly out of lack of time.Grout pen work-in-progressOne pen will not do an entire roomDo not give it a go with just one pen (like me) if your space is as large (or larger) than this.If you push down straight onto the grout the nib will be ruined quicker (see above image!).See the grout pen in action on my TikTok home account
Help! Dark or Light Grey Grout for Floor Tiles?
Originally I was thinking a dark grey for my Herringbone kitchen floor tiles but would a lighter grey be a better option aesthetically and to hide any imperfections.I installed the tile myself and it's my first tiling project ever so if there are small imperfections I don't want them too noticeable.
Grout color too light? Gray porcelain tile with light gray grout
I'm in the middle of a kitchen remodel.Grout was done yesterday. Now I'm having second thoughts about whether a darker grout would have worked better in the space.
Dark or light gray grout
I am going crazy with all the grout decisions!I feel like I have read every post.I am using an epoxy Laticrete grout and there is not much out there on those colors. My wall tile is porcelain Carrara look with gray bathroom floor.I was thinking dark gray shower wall and floor with light gray bathroom floor grout.
Not To Mention The Floor
This is fairly easier- we don’t want white:Here’s that light grey again:But the dark grey is so … Edgy:What do you think?
Choosing Grout for Cloé's White Subway Tile
And one of the most common questions we get from our Instagram audience is "what color grout do I choose?"Grey grout is a beautiful choice for white tiles as the slight contrast in color helps make the white tile pop.Grout color can not only be used to complement the tile itself, but also tie together other colors used in the space. If you want your tile to be the wow factor, and not necessarily the pattern the grout creates, try matching your grout color to your tile color. From white on white to dark grey, we've found these colors let the tile live its best life.
Have No Doubts When Selecting Grout
Not many of our clients think about grout color when they are selecting a tile.If white tile is paired with white grout, the distinction between the tile and grout disappears creating a look that does not typically catch the eye.We also tend to avoid white grout because it takes extra effort to clean and maintain. When clients opt for a bright red or orange colored tile, we would pair that with a white grout. If the grout matches the tile, we recommend a thin grout application to give the appearance of one continuous material.
Grey Hexagon Floor
I need recommendations on grout colour for my new hexagon file floor.I am so torn between dark or light grout.I originally bought "frost" then I returned it and got "charcoal", but now I'm thinking of going back...
Poor tile/grout job? Advice please for dark grout
Does the corner grout line appear too thick? My contractor says if we had just chose white grout (like "everyone else") then none of this would be noticeable.I am sticking with grey grout. My question is, should we use a white grout or caulk down the corners to keep everything looking 'clean'?We will be using while caulk around the soap dishes for the re-do, you can see how thick grey grout is there.
Can grout colour be changed?! :(
Tiles just laid and grouted, but I don't think the grout colour's right! We chose a light grey grout to factor in dirt and darkening over time, but this looks almost white!Apparently it lightens coz of 'salt' in grout, you'd think they'd mentioned that when we were choosing :/Anyway, is there a way to change/stain grout darker, is it recommended or not, and should we bother or wait to see how it looks over time?
I was never really that motivated about designing the bathroom (bathrooms don’t generally excite me much) but I’m really liking the way things are shaping up.Okay, so it has a lot of the same elements as the bathroom does in Boston but I always liked that bathroom, so why not? It’s a teensy-eensy space (so small I think it would be impossible to ever actually get a proper photo of it). These are the in-progress photos — wainscoting installed (but not painted) floor tiles in and tiles for the shower surround are in.I’m thrilled with my white subway tiles and dark grout.
Dark or light grout on Kitchen backsplash
I'm trying to choose grout color for my kitchen.I found a similar thread about this, but they were able to have very narrow grout lines which allowed for a bit of a compromise -- a little bit darker, but because the lines were narrow, less noticeable.Because the edge of my tiles were uneven, my grout lines will be fairly noticeable. The tile is waterworks grove brickworks in bisque and I'm attaching two pics -- one which shows the back of the stove area and one that shows it behind the open shelves.I'm not sure if the pics capture the variation in the grove brickworks, so i've also attached a pic of that.
Ask the Builder: Let tile grout dry fully before assessing color
Ask the Builder: Let tile grout dry fully before assessing colorQ: I made a mistake and discovered your detailed floor grouting video series a bit too late.If you have a tile contractor, ask him to do this so you know the grout color will be what you want.It simply is the colored cement paste of the grout fully dry where it maybe is as thin as a hair on your head.In many cases, this fine grout residue is almost a perfect match for the dry color of the grout.Wait a few days and see what color the grout is when fully dry.
The Best Grout Colors to Pair with Subway Tile
The age-old question: “what are the best grout colors to pair with subway tile”?When it comes to making over a space, picking out a grout color often gets overlooked amongst the pretty tile, paint colors, and hardware finishes. This shade is a true gray to “greige” grout that pairs beautifully with white subway tile, offering a subtle but noticeable contrast. When paired with white subway tile, this grout color prevents the eye from being distracted from the grout lines. This dark gray (almost black) grout color provides a classic yet modern look against white subway tile.
Grout mistakes and installed bathroom tile
As a reminder, here is the tile we picked – a brushed marble tile for the floor, a tumbled marble subway tile for the shower walls, and a linear blue glass for the backside of the niches (all from Floor & Decor). Here is the tumbled marble subway tile going into the boys shower…and the brushed marble tiles going on the floor. That’s actually the master bathroom floor going in because I didn’t get a progress shot of the kids bathroom, but it’s the same tile.My goal was to have the grout color be basically the same color as the tile (just ever so slightly darker).I was convinced that they used the wrong grout color, so our builder came over to have a look at it himself.
