Last Updated on March 3, 2022We have finally, finally completed our pink and navy master bedroom retreat.After years of living in a half-finished master bedroom, it feels so good to have it done!Like so many people, we neglected the design of our master bedroom for the nearly 5 years we’ve been living in our home.We are so happy we finally took the time to really FINISH our master bedroom.

Color Crush: Navy & Fuchsia

This week, we are seriously obsessing over this dramatic color combination: Fuchsia and Navy (or Hot Pink and Cobalt blue if you prefer).Girly pink accents in neutral navy spaces create a fresh, unique, unexpected look.

Using luxurious blue velvets and dark blue painted walls allows the vibrant pink shade to pop even more than you would expect.

Boho Chic Navy and Pink Bedroom

I love that look, but I really wanted to create a relaxing bedroom that felt like us.That meant painting the one wall in a deep and saturated navy tone (blue is my favorite color) and adding soft textures and tones.That’s how we ended up with a boho chic navy and pink master bedroom, although we had started out interested in a scandinavian minimalist space!

He said that was fine and I walked away with this pretty pink vintage kilim!

Style It

Next week will mark the 3 year mark of us moving into our house (I seriously can’t believe its been that long!).While most of our spaces have been painted and styled out, our master bedroom is in dire need of some style.

When we moved in we replaced the stained carpet with dark wood floors and painted the dark maroon red walls a pretty mint blue, but that is where the decor stopped.

When we moved in we didn’t have any furniture for that space and it has stayed empty for far too long.I think I am going to play off of the mint blue on the walls and create a navy blue, pink, and gray oasis complete with several varying textures.

It ties in with the pink and navy going on in the rug.

As you probably know, these days I like to add colour in every room and the bedroom is no exception.I get that a lot of people want to keep the bedroom a calm and relaxing place to retreat but I find waking up in a bedroom full of colour more invigorating, mood-boosting and inspiring.
