Vertical tile layout with horizontal accent band in shower?

I am finalizing a design in a somewhat small bathroom and have decided to visually stretch the space with a vertical tile layout using 8x12 tiles.I prefer the look of a horizontal accent band, however I am not seeing any designs which use this pattern with the exception of the example below which uses a stacked pattern (I was planning on brick/bonded but am flexible).

I am thinking because the accent band is offset, this is the reason the designer went with a stacked layout?

Is there a reason why a vertical tile/horizontal accent is so hard to find online?

By using white tiles, they also brightened the space and created a clean minimalist look.

horizontal or vertical bathroom wall tile?

I understand vertical is to make a low ceiling look taller and horizontal can make a tight one expand...my bathroom is deciently sized at 10x10 and 9.5 foot ceiling.i have 8x24inch tile and would love to go vertical but wonder if i should stay horizontal... i am not doing an accent strip.i feel if the tile is intresting enough the strip is distracting.i did however pick out an pretty floor tile (second photo) that will be used in the niche and the wall behind my sink.

So I'm in scramble mode, learning about bathroom reno and I'm really hoping you will help me.We've chosen all elements but I can't decide which way to run the tile in the tub/shower area.Counter (a remnant piece of Pental Chroma Mohave polished){{gwi:1500340}}Floor tile is United Tile Provenza Sand, 12 x 24{{gwi:1500341}}We're running this lengthwise through the space, staggered grout lines.

Backsplash and tub/shower accent tile is American Olean Cepac Serenity in Mountain Meadow,And finally, the tile we've chosen for the tub/shower wall is Pental Urban Life Parc Noce Matte in 12 x 24 size.

My first thought was to run the 12 x 24 tiles horizontally because that would make it easier to insert a band of accent tiles.
