The Boys' Room 2.0
When we moved to this house, we knew our number one priority would be fixing up the boys’ room so that it would be as seamless of a transition as possible. Then, after we moved in, making the boys’ room took a backseat to helping them adjust to another new normal we had tossed at them, which I think we are finally pulling out of.Just about the only thing we agreed on was the brand of paint, and thankfully, Sherwin-Williams always comes through for us since they saved the color we used in the old house for the boys’ room.I also upgraded the boys’ curtains from a gray and white stripe linen to a thermal black and white stripe, courtesy of Amazon.Anyway, that concludes the boys’ room upgrade, 2.0.

Ideas For Moving A Toddler and Baby Into A Shared Room
DecorIndy’s Tiny Room (with Tiny Bed)OK, I need your help. And we all know how child-inclusive trips to Ikea go, so I’m thinking I should take advantage of this.Have Goldie and Indy share Goldie’s larger bedroom, and make Indy’s room the guest room. We’d give Goldie Indy’s toddler bed (the futon would still fit in her room with a toddler bed), upgrade Indy to a twin, and figure out how to get rid of his dresser (perhaps by installing drawers in his closet, which isn’t especially well-used at the moment).* * *Just for fun, some amazing shared bedroom ideas I found on Pinterest (none of which would actually fit in our house – with the possible exception of that last one – but whatever).

A new toddler bedroom
We’ve finally finished our son’s new bedroom and I can show you some pictures.I didn’t think an entirely red room would be wise given the energy levels we’re talking about here! Then we added red accents like the chair and IKEA cabinet (just seen on the left) to satisfy the client, so to speak (!)I got my son to help sort the books into colors, which he enjoyed – and the effect is rather pleasing. Our son loves his new room and now has plenty of space for his toys, books and clothes.
When Otto turned three in September I knew we needed to make a few changes to his bedroom. As Otto is now preschool age we've decided to keep most of his learning materials on his shelves downstairs. You won't find Montessori materials in this bedroom but you will find wooden blocks, duplo, magnetic tiles, model trucks and construction vehicles, and a soft doll for cuddling. These shelves are much higher than our low infant shelves which means we can have out more materials. As these materials are all open-ended toys we've used baskets and open boxes to keep like materials together.
