I am stumped with arranging furniture in my new living room.You can see the current arrangement.What would be optimal?

There's a possibility of adding a foldable armchair at some point and there's an option of getting a corner tv stand for the 40 inch HDTV (not sure if they work with flat screens as well as with old tvs though).

I am also a big home theatre aficionado so please take into account a good 5.1 speaker setup (there's a possibility to add speakers on the fireplace mantle, on the window sill or on a wall shelf between the two doors).

I have a 17' x 17' living room as shown below.I plan on buying a 60'' TV and other furniture (starting from scratch).The issue is I have not been able to be inspired by this living room layout or the dark hardwood floors.The optimal viewing distance for a 60" TV is usually no more than 7' which means I let the couch "float" somewhere near the center.
