Paint has always been my friend when it comes to giving my house a fresh, new look.When I built this house in 2005, I chose this original stone.How I Painted My Stone FireplaceAffiliate links are included in this postThe only tutorials online were for painting uniform brick fireplaces, with very few tutorials on painting a stacked stone fireplace like mine.I color matched my favorite colored stone in the existing fireplace.I chose this stone as my base coat which is more on grey/taupe side when compared to the rest of the stones.

See if you’re gonna paint stone, it should look like it’s still stone and not have a glossy latex shine to it that screams CHEAP RE-DO!They sent me some paint to try out, so armed with the Palace White color in hand we went at this.

Since completing this job I have had so many inquiries about the process used to transform this fireplace.I am not a big DYI person so I spoke to the amazing contractor Adrian at Craftsman Construction that we worked with on this project, about how they were able to change the multicolored stone fireplace into the clean white look that we finished with.They used the sprayer to get the even coverage on the stone.
