Hex tile floor- what shade for grout?

bathroom leak was in May and finally I am having the floor redone, which has lead to a new cabinet, claw foot tub redone, new paint, faucet and toilet.Basically it spiraled into a whole new bathroom.

I need to pick a grout color and I know I want gray, but should it be light, medium or dark?Cabinet is white with white marble counter, tub will be black and white and walls above wainscoting will be blue/green (I haven't chosen yet).

I LOVE THE LOOK OF HEX TILES.Home Depot has the merola line of hex which comes in white, black, a nice seafoam green, and a not that great light blue.I decided to order all my white tile from home depot and then I would custom order some colored tiles to create my pattern.The reasoning that finally swayed me was that I thought the colored tile could feel dated.Maybe this is partly par for the course for the intricacy of hex tile, but David spent twelve work hours cleaning the grout.

Laying 1″ Hex Tile in the Bathroom

Once I gathered the supplies and completed the prep work in the bathroom I came home from work one night in mid-November ready to tile!Luckily with 1″ hex tiles, a quick nip will cut through the tile pretty neatly.Not dry-dry, just drier… I tried working faster and faster, laying the tile as quickly as I could.I debated white, grey, and black grout options, but ultimately, picked up a gallon of the charcoal which is the black Fusion Pro option.

Sure there was still some grout haze on the tile, but I would get that after the grout and tile set fully.
